Analysts say the North Korean missiles on display in a military parade in Pyongyang North Korea are actually fakes. The 6 missiles were shown in a military parade to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the North Korean regime`s founder Kim Il Sung on April 15.
A report by German missile engineers Markus Schiller and Robert H. Schmucker was titled “A Dog And Pony Show” and was published in April 18. It says, “At first glance, the missile seems capable of covering a range of perhaps 10,000 km. However, a closer look reveals that all of the presented missiles are mock-ups.”
They say there is still no solid evidence that North Korea actually has any Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM).
Their analysis was posted on Arms Control Wonk website http://lewis.armscontrolwonk.com/archive/5150/dprk-icbm-items
Schiller and Schmucker say the ICBM missile shown seem to be 18 meters long, and at first glance appear to be a solid-fueled rocket. They should weight around 40 tons and capable of travelling a distance of 10,000 km.
On closer analysis however, they say the design of the warhead is a sure sign it’s a mock up. They say, “The surface structure is another indication that the warhead is a mock-up… A real warhead’s casing …… is certainly not designed this way.”
